For the 2024 Oscars issue of The Hollywood Reporter, I produced a two-page spread that showcased the latest high jewels, matching spectacular pieces to the personal style of four major stars: Nicole Kidman, Angela Bassett, Carey Mulligan and Greta Lee.
Already known for her role on The Morning Show, Lee emerged as a true style star in 2023 with the premiere of Past Lives, garnering coverage for her combination of minimalist and modernist on red carpets. That offered an opportunity to showcase forward-thinking high jewelry from Messika, Cindy Chao and other jewelers; while for the eternally romantic Kidman, colorful jewels by Tiffany & Co., Piaget and others seemed like an ideal fit. For Mulligan, I chose diamonds in classic settings, while Bassett's regal presence dictated the need for equally royal jewels. A really fun story to put together.
